HOW TO PLAY THREE CARD POKER

Three Card Poker is a variation of poker. This player does not play against opponents, but against the dealer. The intention is to create a better combination with three cards in the hand than the divisor. The player can double his bet by beating the dealer, earn a bonus for high hand and values – in some accommodations – win a pair plus bonus.

As the player gets three instead of five (or more) cards other conditions apply to determine the hand value than regular forms of poker. The hand values in 3 Card Poker from highest to lowest are:

straight flush = three cards in a row of the same suit (eg: 8 ♠ 9 ♠ 10 ♠).
three of a kind = three cards of the same value (eg 4 ♦ 4 ♥ 4 ♠)
Straight = three cards in a row of different types (for example, 5 ♠ 6 ♦ 7 ♠).
flush = three cards of the same suit that are not set (for example, 4 ♥ 8 ♥ K ♥)
pair = two cards of the same value plus any third card (for example 10 ♦ 10 ♥ 8 ♠)
High Card – three cards of various types, values, and not in a row. The ace counts thereby highest (eg 4 ♥ 10 ♦ K ♠)

First, the player must bet to ante “the initial bet before seeing the cards” to enter the game. He can also put an ante bonus to risk for a greater income. The player places the ante and then gets three cards. On the basis, he decides whether he wants to bet on his cards where if the cards are better than those of the dealer or not. Three cards of the dealer are the three ‘blind’ on the table. If the player decides to bet, he bets to play the same amount with his ante. If he folds, he loses his ante.
When the player is playing, place the divider and any exposed cards.The dealer’s hand must be Queen High or better for the dealer hand to play. Then:

  • If the dealer does not have ‘playing’ hand, the player gets his play bet back and his ante pays out 1:1.
  • If the dealer has a playing hand that is worse than that of the player, both the ante and the play bet doubles player. (The player wins 1:1)
  • If the dealer has a playing hand that is better than the player, the player loses both his ante and play his bet. (The player loses his bet.)
  • If the dealer has a playing hand that is equal to that of the player, the player gets his ante and playback without profit or loss. (The player is tied. No loss no gains!)

An additional feature is the Ante Bonus, which is paid to the Ante wager for a straight or better. The Ante Bonus is paid on a pay scale and is paid regardless of whether the dealer plays and regardless of whether the dealer or the player has the best hand. The typical Ante Bonus pay table pays 5:1 for a straight flush, 4:1 for a three of a kind, and 1:1 for a straight.

An optional side bet in which the player’s objective is to make a pair or better. If the player achieves this, they win, irrespective of the dealer’s hand. Winnings are according to the Pair Plus Bonus Bet payout table with the highest win being a very attractive 100:1.

Another optional side bet in which the player’s objective is to make the best five-card poker hand they can by combining their own three cards and the dealer’s three cards. This bet pays on Three of a Kind or better, irrespective of the dealer’s hand, with the highest win being an amazing 1,000 to 1.
